Application
MicroTouch touch monitors from 3M have been integrated into an innovative multimedia training system designed to improve education in driving schools.
Why Touch Screens?
The training system called easydriver -CONTROL- has been developed by Hahn mediaservice on behalf of Verkehrs-Verlag Remagen (VVR), a leading specialist publisher for driving schools based in Germany. The objective was to develop a system which could be easily used by people with minimal computer experience. This was achieved through a touch monitor, providing an intuitive interface which leaves the user to focus solely on their training.
Why 3M Touch Systems?
Hahn mediaservice decided to use touch monitors from 3M because of their fast response, excellent optical performance and outstanding robustness. The high quality of the capacitive touch screens and the excellent customer service delivered by 3M Touch Systems were also important criteria for Hahn mediaservice when selecting a suitable monitor.
Customer Feedback
The easydriver -CONTROL- interactive multimedia system has been enthusiastically received by driving schools. A comprehensive reference manual is supplied with the system. However, Ralph Hahn, Co-founder and Managing Director at Hahn mediaservice, commented: “Driving instructors barely refer to the manual because the operator guidance on the touch screen interface is so easy and intuitive. All driving instructors that work with the system are very enthused.”
Description
Easydriver –CONTROL- features excellent operator guidance and ease of handling. By simply touching the screen, driving instructors and their students can receive all the information they need. Utilising video, graphics, verbal text and interactive animations the training is kept vivid and interesting, and the content can be displayed on large screens or monitors. The MicroTouch touch monitor can either be desk or wall mounted enabling the instructor to move freely around the room without the need for restrictive mice or keyboards.
Technical
The easydriver -CONTROL- system utilises a MicroTouch M170 Touch Monitor incorporating capacitive touch technology. A unique display adjustment and locking mechanism located in the monitor base ensures that a fixed, rigid display angle is maintained during use. This allows the display to be mounted on horizontal or vertical surfaces without modification, disassembly or third party hardware.
