Welcome to issue six of Research Matters, which carries updates on the activities of the international research programme of ACCA. Published regularly, Research Matters provides information about research newly-published by ACCA, along with details of events to support its dissemination and to support the research community in general.

In this issue, we welcome two new members to ACCA’s research committee: Dr David Guy, head of knowledge transfer at the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) and Professor Günther Gebhardt, chair of the accounting department at Göethe University, Germany.

Additionally, we report on the five research projects commissioned by ACCA’s research committee on pensions-related issues, following the issue of a call for proposals last year. Given the success of the exercise – ACCA received proposals from eight countries spread across four continents – our research committee is keen to issue further proactive calls in the coming months.
