Are you interested in assessing and understanding how the Design Quality Indicator can improve the design process?

CABE and CIC are looking for an intern for the summer (mid July to Mid October 2008) to collect case study material on buildings that have used DQI.

The successful candidate will be a graduate or post graduate in the built environment field (or equivalent) , who can demonstrate strong communication and interviewing skills, basic analysis experience, practical project management skills and the ability to write clearly and succinctly to a publishable standard.  An enthusiasm for architecture and urban design, familiarity with briefing processes in building projects and DQI is an advantage. (Applicants will be asked to submit a short written piece of work together with an application form).

The Design Quality Indicator is an industry standard tool for the measurement of the design quality of buildings.  It is used during the briefing stages of a building project, to set design priorities, and then in design and use stages to check how these priorities are being met.

CABE aims to be a diverse organisation and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Please visit CABE’s  website, email recruitment@cabe.org.uk, or phone human resources on 020 7070 6700 for further details and an application pack.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 1 July 2008 with interviews from the 4 July 2008.
