Following discussions between the Strategic Forum for Construction, the Construction Confederation and the embryonic UK Contractors’ Group, a decision to rationalise the membership of the Forum has been made to accommodate both the Construction Confederation and the UKCG.
The three seats for contractor representatives will now be held by the Executive Chairman of the Construction Confederation (Manus Adamson), the Chairman of the UKCG (James Wates) and an Executive Officer to be appointed by the two bodies.
Speaking of this decision, the Rt Hon Nick Raynsford MP, the Chairman of the Strategic Forum said ‘it is essential for the Strategic Forum for Construction to be as broadly representative of the industry, as possible, and it is clearly important for both the UKCG and the CC to be integral contributors to the Forum’s key activities in relation to the economy, health & safety, integration and sustainability.’
