Tropicana releases ad soundtrack for free
The move has been prompted after telephone calls

Nina Wall

Tropicana Smoothies is offering an MP3 of the soundtrack for its latest ad for free due to public demand.

Unavailable to purchase, the brand is releasing the track to the first 1,000 people to download it from the brand’s website.

The move has been prompted after telephone calls to the brand, radio interest and the track being the subject of a number of blogs.

The Perry Como classic "Catch a falling Star" is performed by a previously unknown mother-of-two from Portsmouth, Nina Wall.

Ad agency DDB asked music producer Dan Parry to find them an artist to re-record the track for their upcoming advert.

Dan, who is married to Nina's sister-in-law, had overheard Nina singing on a family holiday and wanted to use a fresh voice for the recording in order to get an original sound, so asked her if she would do it.

Nina, somewhat nervously as she had never sung professionally, or even amateur before, agreed.

Senior brand manager for Tropicana Smoothies, Adrian Baty, said, "Nina was a fantastic choice to sing for the track, and her voice has really struck a chord with people watching the ad.

“We've had numerous calls to the Tropicana careline asking us for details as to how to get the track, and we've seen similar questions far and wide across the internet.”

He added, “So we've decided to offer 1,000 free downloads of the track to anyone that wants it - all fans have to do is go to the Tropicana Smoothies website from Friday, but they'll need to be quick!"

Nina is now recording original tracks with Dan Parry and is hopeful of kick-starting her music career.

The track can be downloaded from: www.tropicana.co.uk/juices/smoothies
