PepsiCo to increase snacks production in India
PepsiCo also wants to introduce new products

In the next 18 months, PepsiCo India has said that it will raise the capacity of snacks production by one-third of its present capability, reported the Press Trust of India.

Details of the investment needed for this capacity hike have not been revealed. Increasing demand for the company's snacks has propelled it into taking this decision. The hike in production will take place across plants in Punjab, West Bengal, Pune and the co-packing facility at Faridabad.

In addition to this, PepsiCo also wants to introduce new products that are more healthy and Indianized. What with Indian products finding considerable demand in various overseas markets, the company is also readying itself to supply there, if necessary.

Gautham Mukkavilli, managing director of Fritolay division at Pepsico India, said: "The sales of our health product Quaker Oats has doubled in one year period and similarly there has been double digit growth in all our products."
