Tesco's Chied Executive, Sir Terry Leahy has been quoted as saying in the Guardian newspaper that "if we want long-term growth, we must go green."
 
He see that to tackle climate change does not just lie in the hands of politicians or regulators, the UN or the G8 but in a framework in which governments, business and consumers each play their part.

The consumer wants to do their part to go green and do their bit to protect the environment. The challenge for the retailers is to help them do that.
