Out To Launch... Caribbean Delicacies Prove A Hit With ASDA Shoppers
Caribbean Ready Meals, Mile High Drink, Ski, Ginsters, Ummah Foods, Galaxy drink

Mark Davis joint owner of the Caribbean Food Company Sales of the UK ’s first range of Caribbean Ready Meals are going from strength-to-strength at supermarket giant ASDA. The products from the Caribbean Food Company were launched just months ago, after company owners Mark and Elina Davis appeared on the BBC Two show, Dragons’ Den. Since then, dishes such as Jerk Chicken & Special Rice and Caribbean Chicken with Rice & Pea’s have proved to be a big hit. The company has now increased its output by 300% in order to meet customer demand, as sales have continued to climb since the Caribbean Ready Meals first hit ASDA’s shelves four months ago. Commenting on the success of the range, joint owner of the Caribbean Food Company, Mark Davis said: “It’s so rewarding to see that our products are flying off the shelves. It demonstrates that food lovers are looking for an alternative to curries and Chinese dishes, and the fresh taste of the Caribbean appears to be hitting the spot.” Gillian Cox, ASDA’s Ethnic Buyer added: “The range is proving extremely popular with customers across the country. With winter creeping up on us, it's clear that customers are still looking for a taste of summer.”  The Caribbean Food Company is currently developing a number of exciting new dishes, which are due to be launched in 2009.  

A new drink has been launched to give people a healthy boost ahead of this weekend’s arctic conditions. Mile High  offers one of the highest antioxidant levels in the UK drinks market and also contains aloe vera and ginger, which combine to boost the immune system and help to combat the flu bug. Mile High is now available in selected Waitrose stores nationwide including the flagship John Lewis store on Oxford Street in London at a RRP of £1.49.

Ski is being re-launched this month as a good value yogurt range made with all natural ingredients.
Totally natural, new Ski combines real fruit with thick, creamy tasting yogurt. Ski’s delicious new recipe yogurts have no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The fruit yogurt with all natural ingredients is available in flavours ranging from the traditional (Strawberry and Raspberry) to the exotic (Mango and Passion Fruit) aimed to appeal to the whole family. Within the range, Ski has introduced a smooth variant in both Strawberry and Raspberry and Mango and Passion Fruit flavours to cater for those in the family who don’t like “bits” but have outgrown yogurts aimed specifically at children. New recipe Ski is available in-store now in the chilled dairy aisle and costs RRP £1.49 per four pack with on-going, “2 for £2” promotions at selected retailers. The re-launch will be supported by print advertising in women’s titles and PR support.

Ginsters, is launching three new lines this month to capitalise on consumer demand for convenient party options and traditional flavours over the festive season. new Mini Festive Rolls 12-pack in a seasonal Pork & Cranberry variant which is available from 10th November.  Also available is a standard Mini Sausage Rolls 12-pack for a more traditional flavour, containing fresh British pork sausagemeat with a hint of sage and spices. Available from 11th November, Ginsters is also introducing a limited edition Christmas Sandwich. The sandwich comes in seasonally themed packaging, featuring a snow-dusted logo, and is made with traditional festive flavours including British turkey, stuffing with bacon and extra fruity cranberry sauce. It will be Sandwich of the Month throughout December and offers consumers a delicious winter treat.  

Ummah Foods is proud to announce the launch of its new Premium Range of Halal Chocolates. The new range is a result of feedback from the largest ever survey of British Muslim Women in the UK, and will be reaching selected Asda stores across the UK during Global Entrepreneurship Week 17th - 23rd November 2008. This exciting new range comprises of:  Intriguingly Dark chocolate with 60% indulgence of pure cocoa, Oriental Riches Milk Chocolate, Milk Chocolate Mélange of Raisins and crushed Peanut, Delectably Smooth Milk Chocolate with Peanut nibbles, Milk Chocolate Raisin Treasure Trove.
