On Tuesday 8 May the Edmond J. Safra Lecture Theatre (currently known as the South Range Lecture Theatre) will be dedicated with a special lecture given by King’s stem cell expert Dr Steven Minger.
This memorial lecture will be an annual event focusing on frontline advances in Parkinson’s research. The lecture honours the late Mr Edmond J. Safra, philanthropist and financier, and his widow, Mrs Lily Safra FKC who recently granted major support towards research into the causes of Parkinson’s disease taking place at the College.
The new lecture theatre is one on the centrepieces of the recent renovation of the Strand’s South Range. Seating 250, it utilises the original double height volume of Sir Robert Smirke’s 1831 design to elegant effect.
The lecture will be free and open to the public however, admission is by ticket only. For further details please contact the Development Office at eventrsvp@kcl.ac.uk with the words ‘Edmond J Safra Memorial Lecture’ in the subject line.
