Kogod Creates Express Advising for Undergrads
In an effort to reduce waiting times and to better assist students, the Office of Undergraduate Programs has instituted Express Advising. You may sign up on the Express Advising Sign-up Sheet posted on the door of KSB 106 to be cleared for registration. Advisors will clear students for online registration within two (2) hours of signing up. Unfortunately, due to the large number of students, you will not be notified when your registration has been cleared.

Keep in mind that all students must be cleared by a Kogod Academic Advisor before they can register online. This process has not changed with the introduction of online registration.

A few things to keep in mind prior to registering -- you should log on to my.american.edu to review your Degree Audit Report (DAR) as well as to determine whether there are any other stops (financial, visa, immunization, etc.) on your registration. It is also your responsibility to ensure that you have met all the prerequisites for the courses in which you plan to enroll. A sample four-year academic plan is available in KSB 106.

If you have questions regarding course selection, please sign up for an appointment with an advisor during the next couple of weeks. It is our hope that this new Express Advising system will ease the registration process and allow students to become better acquainted with my.american.edu.
