The last few months in review...

As always, it’s been very busy in the past few months and I’d like to share some of the highlights with you. On the national front, merger discussions between the National Lambda Rail and Internet2 have come to a complete halt. The primary issue that forced the “Nay” vote from the NLR Board was the feeling that some RONs, (Regional Optical Networks) have regarding their investments in fiber IRUs, and how that would be handled during the merger process. I understand their position and in some ways can empathize with them, but the fact remains that we still have a competitive situation where we should be working towards a common goal. The national research and educational community does not receive any benefit from the bickering.

DeSales University Expands MBA Program using Collaboration Technologies

DeSales University is expanding it's MBA program - - -to Romania.

Dr. Mohamed Latib, Program Director, was one of the first MBA practitioners in the world to take his program online. Now, using two-way interactive video and other collaborative technologies, he and his colleagues, with support from President Bernard F. O’Connor, O.S.F.S., and PaCIE Board member, Dr. Galen Godbey, DSU’s Associate to the President for Globalization, are introducing a highly distinctive - - perhaps unique - - model for MBA education.

Kids Helping Kids Make a Difference!
Announcing Alex's Virtual Lemonade Stand 2008

Now in it's third year, MAGPI, Lower Merion School District and Alex's Lemonade Stand are pleased to announce that ALEX'S VIRTUAL LEMONADE STAND will take place from April 8 - April 24, 2008.

In celebration of Global Youth Services Day, join other schools across the country as they host lemonade stands to raise money for pediatric cancer research and participate in other related projects. Schools will collaborate with each other through a blog, a special "kick off" videoconference spirit rally and closing project collage videoconference event.
