Chocolate lovers look out!
Following the success of the Young MCA's first event 'Speed Networking' at the BT Tower, the MCA is hosting a seminar presented by James Averdieck, Founder and Managing Director of Gü puds  (www.gupuds.com).  James will talk about his experience in setting up the company as well as share some of his experience and knowledge of the ever-changing food industry.  There may even be a chance to sample some products!  The event will take place at 6pm on Thursday 8 September at a cost of £30.00 per person. MCA appoints new Chief Executive

Karen Birch has been appointed as the new MCA Chief Executive to take over from Bruce Petter who is retiring at the end of August.  Karen trained as a lawyer in the early eighties and became a barrister in 1985.  Following spells in Bermuda, Australia and Thailand, Karen returned to the UK in the mid nineties, spent nearly six years as the Deputy General Counsel at Price Waterhouse / PwC and then three years as Head of Legal and Corporate Services at the Bank of New York in London.  Click below for further information.

‘UK Consulting Industry 2004/5’ – discount for members!

The new report, ‘The UK Consulting Industry 2004/5’ is published by the MCA in conjunction with PMP and IRN Research. The report found that since the turn of the millennium growth in fee income from MCA member firms has nearly doubled from £3.7billion to £6.5billion. On a like-for like basis in 2004, fee income from MCA member firms grew by 10 per cent, with the UK consulting market now estimated to be worth just over £10.1billion, up 4 per cent on 2003.
